Does the Buck Growler Really Work?

In a recent blog post from Moses, he asked if the Buck Growler by Madd really worked?

I shared with Moses that I had not had the chance to use the Buck Growler yet.

Here is your chance to help your fellow deer hunters.

If you or any of your hunting partners has had success using the Madd Buck Growler let us know.

Scroll down to the bottom of this post and click on the questions and comments link.

As soon as I receive your post I will put it up on the blog for our deer hunting community to read.

Good Luck and Great Hunting!

I don`t know what a buck growler is so I can`t say but when I just sit or walk around, when I`m not in my tree stand, I use what I call my magic caller.

It`s really called a "hands free mini-call" by buck expert. You might know what I`m talking about but i`m going to send a picture of it anyway.

You just clip it on your shirt put it in your mouth and grunt as you go.

I used the hands free mini call deer hunting three years ago. I had just sat down in a cutting after walking for a while. I kept calling and looked up and saw one big doe and two little ones.

I bet they were only 75 feet from me. They were coming right in line with the grunt noise. I shot the doe and the other two ran away.

I bet if I would not have shot the doe, the deer would have run right over me.

The following year, while going through some bushes, I lost the call in the woods and couldn`t find it.

Me and my wife looked at all the stores to buy another one but could not find any. I did not get any deer that year.

This year my wife, while shopping at WalMart, found 2 of them which she bought.

This year I hunted with the hands free mini call and got my first big buck.

Thank`s to Marty who told me if I wanted a buck not to shoot the first deer that I see. Marty told me the buck would come soon and it did. Thank`s again Marty.

By the way, now the call has a string and a clip attached to the end. Instead of just clipping it to my shirt, I loop the string to my button hole then clip it to my shirt. I do the same with my compass.
